In fulfilment of the objectives of the project of strengthening citizens participation in health and education service delivery in Kiryandongo district a community baraza was organised by MICOD with a purpose of Creating space for citizens to share key issues,Bridging gap between the leaders and community members and Creating awareness of rights to community members. budget performance analysis and review
with funds from GAPP MICOD is implementing a project , with a major objective of improving citizen participation in health and education service delivery in Bweyale town council and Mutunda sub-county Kiryandongo district. under this project MICOD carried out a budget performance analysis and review on 23rd march and the following key issues emerged Low budget allocations for example there were no allocations for buying desks yet 5-6 pupils sit on one desk in a classroom in bweyale 2018/2019 It is evident that citizens do not take part i the budgeting planning and monitoring practices most of the funds were put on administration and way forward. The following were given as way forward by the leaders Bweyale town council promised to increase budget allocations by 10% to the education and health sector in the year 2019 Promote community participation in the budgeting processes.
