interface meeting held on 28th march 2018
MICOD with funds from GAPP are implementing a project to"strengthening citizen participation in health and education service delivery " in Kiryandongo district, under the implementing activities MICOD conducted an interface meeting with the major objective of making health and education stake holders and duty bearers appreciate the situation and key issues of service delivery , make commitments on these issues and concerns ,act on them,redirect the subsequent local government plans and budgets and consider them for action.

how ever there are also best practices in these areas which include the following:

key findings in service delivery in Mutunda sub-county:
- low parent involvement in the education of their children for example very few attend PTA meetings
- high number of pupils in the classrooms for example at Pnyadoli hills primary school there 236 pupils in primary two sharing only two streams.
- some expectant mothers come un prepared during delivery and this was witnessed at diima health centre iii.
- there are no mosquito nets on beds at diima health centre.
key findings in Bweyale town council:
- there is always drug shortage at Nyakadoti health centre III ,drugs meant for three months take only a week.
- at Siriba primary school the class rooms are inadquate and desks compared to the number of pupils in the school for example p.4 had 180 pupils and you find like 5-6 sharing a desk.
how ever there are also best practices in these areas which include the following:
- at diima health centre there are efforts from community members to visit the unit to do community work
- at Nyakadoti health centre II at the maternity ward the midwife was there how ever much the expectant mothers were many.
the stake holders gave the following issues and responses during the meeting.
- the local council III Mutunda sub-county said he expects changes in the health sector since some NGO's have come in to pay extra staff to help in service delivery.
- there will be construction of an out patient department at Diima health centre III.
- there is negative attitude towards education by parents.
- MICOD was requested to take action as far as the usage of latrines is concerned at Bweyale public school.
